Historic narrow boats gather at the Museum in Ellesmere Port for Easter
Each Easter owners of historic narrow boats come to the national waterways museum to renew old friendships, catch up on the news and showcase their boats to visitors. It is a time when the Museum comes alive with music, song, events and activities. This year was no exception and over 4000 visitors enjoyed seeing the brightly painted boats.
Museums have been nominated for two prestige’s awards at the UK museum and heritage show
The National Waterways Museum has been nominated in two category’s at the forthcoming Museum and Heritage show awards ceremony, in the innovation category for its interactive display exploring boats in the collection and in the Volunteer of the year category for our volunteer, Barry Green who project managed the lifting of the narrow boats into store.
