We are proud to announce the new leadership team that will guide the Global Network of Water Museums through the 2026-2027 biennium. Following the last Management Board meeting, the network has officially appointed its new President and confirmed its Executive Direction to lead WAMU+NET into a new phase of international growth.
The Board has unanimously elected Philippe Pypaert as the new President of WAMU+NET. With over 30 years of experience at UNESCO coordinating international water management programs, Philippe brings unparalleled expertise to lead our network’s institutional consolidation.
Alongside the new Presidency, the Board has enthusiastically confirmed the mandate of Eriberto Eulisse as Executive Director. His leadership remains vital for the strategic continuity and operational excellence that have established WAMU+NET as a premier UNESCO-IHP Flagship Initiative. His new position at the Autonomous Province of Trento will enable him to support WAMU+NET for the next two years.
2025: A Year of Global Achievements and International Leadership
This transition follows a landmark year for our network, thanks to the leading role of our outgoing Management Board and President, Eddy Moors. We invite you to know the New Members of WAMU+NET Board and also download our 2025 Activity Report, which highlights why 2025 was a year of global achievements and international leadership: From prestigious UNESCO awards to new European projects and our 6th International Conference in Brasilia, the report showcases the milestones we have reached together.
General Assembly and Tribute to Founding Members
During the General Assembly held on December 19th, the network also celebrated the significant transition toward a new Charter of the Association. On the occasion, we held a special ceremony to honor our "heroic" founding members, whose six years of dedicated service ensured the birth and success of this flagship initiative of IHP. As their mandate concludes, WAMU+NET stands poised for a new era of expansion under the new Board.
