On 18 September 2026, WAMU+NET is organizing a full day of discussions and professional exchange at Palazzo Zorzi, UNESCO Office in Venice, as part of the S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION project (co-funded by the European Union).
The day is structured in two workshops, to which leading curators and professional artists will contribute. The two sessions, organised in conjunction with the Venice Art Biennale, focus on art-science collaborations and eco-art in times of water crisis.

Workshop 1 — Converging Currents: Art-Science Collaborations for Water Sustainability
9:30–13:00
A workshop exploring how artistic practice and scientific research can inform and challenge each other in addressing water challenges. Selected S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION artists lead round-table discussions on the water-related challenges addressed in their works, creating a conversational and hands-on setting where workshop participants — students, researchers, educators, practitioners and curious minds — can engage directly with the artists and with each other through interactive sessions.

Workshop 2 — Flowing Imaginaries: Eco-Art Practices in Times of Water and Environmental Crisis
15:00–17:30
An open public event exploring eco-art as a field at the intersection of art, environment, and society — its history, its geographic diversity, and its role in addressing the environmental crisis. Senior curators Stefano Cagol (curator of the Nauru National Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale and director of Castel Belasi ART ECO thought), Mara Sartore (Director of Lightbox Venice) and Francesca Guerisoli (art historian and director of Fondazione Pietro e Alberto Rossini), will open with a series of critical provocations, followed by four round-table discussions open to all participants. Discussions will focus around four modes of eco-art engagement — Witness, Provocation, Participation, and Transformation.
Both workshops will be held in English. For safety reasons, the number of places available in the venue is limited to a maximum of 40 people.
