On 18 September 2026, the Global Network of Water Museums (WAMU+NET) will host a dedicated Workshop Day at Palazzo Zorzi – UNESCO Office in Venice, within the framework of the S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION project, co-funded by the European Union.
Bringing together artists, researchers, educators, and practitioners, the event will explore how creative and scientific approaches can jointly address today’s pressing water and environmental challenges. The day will be structured around two complementary sessions, designed to foster dialogue, exchange, and hands-on engagement.
The morning session, “Converging Currents: Art-Science Collaborations for Water Sustainability”, will take the form of an interactive working session led by AQUA MOTION artists. Through small-group discussions, participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with artistic practices and research processes, reflecting on how art and science can inform and challenge one another in the field of water sustainability.
In the afternoon, the public event “Flowing Imaginaries: Eco-Art Practices in Times of Water and Environmental Crisis” will open a broader reflection on eco-art as a field at the intersection of art, environment, and society. The session will feature contributions from international curators and experts, including Stefano Cagol, Curator of the Nauru National Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, followed by facilitated discussions with participants.
