The Museum was created with the aim of raising awareness of the protection of the immense water heritage present in the Campania region through an interactive and digital museum itinerary dedicated to its global presence in the territory. The heart of the museum are its digital maps, continuously updated, dedicated to rivers, lakes, springs, waterfalls, marine areas, fountains, aqueducts and any other place or monument linked to water, present in Campania.
The "Multimedia Museum of Campania's Waters" was born from the concrete commitment of the Terre di Campania APS Association to raise awareness, in order to raise awareness of its protection, of the immense water heritage present in our region, which has always been rich in water, so much so as to donate it to neighboring territories. The tool chosen to achieve this ambitious objective is an interactive and digital museum itinerary dedicated to the global knowledge of the element water and its presence in Campania.
The Association has paid attention to the creation of a mapping, as complete as possible, of the rivers, lakes, springs, waterfalls, marine areas, fountains, aqueducts and any other place or monument related to water present in Campania. A constantly updated work, of which the first results are the interactive maps that can be consulted throughout the museum.
The "Multimedia Museum of Campania's Waters" (MUMAC) is also the place where not only technology, but also art tells the beauty and importance of water. In fact, the museum exhibition includes the artistic installation "Gocce d'Acqua" which collects over 2000 works, created by artists and students of art institutes in Campania, dedicated to the precious element. Fruit of the ingenuity of Giuseppe Ottaiano, founder of Terre di Campania, who with his travels and a keen spirit of observation continues to enrich the museum's wealth of knowledge and contents, the artistic installation is not mere decoration, but the visualization of a experience that tells the value of water as an element and an indispensable good.
The possibility of participating in scientific or artistic themed workshops completes the museum's offering. Digital technology and art, combined with laboratory experience, make the "Multimedia Museum of Campania's Waters" a unique journey, to be experienced to learn about.
