Within the framework of the AQUATIK-EU project (WP9), WAMU+NET is organising a webinar on 10 June 2026 at 14:30 (CET) titled:
“Toward the Extended Museum of the Acheron River, Greece – Valorising water heritage, engaging communities and developing innovative practices for extended water museums.”
The webinar will bring together selected speakers who will share inspiring experiences and practical approaches to the valorisation of water heritage, community engagement, and the development of innovative practices for extended water museums.
The event is conceived as a preparatory step toward the Workshop and Study Visit on the Acheron River (Greece, 16–17 June), jointly organised by the Municipality of Souli and WAMU+NET. This upcoming activity will focus on the co-design of an Extended Museum — an innovative approach that moves beyond the boundaries of a single physical site to connect watercourses, landscapes, cultural heritage, and local knowledge into a shared and participatory narrative.
The initiative aims to establish a “Community of Interest on Extended Water Museums” that will continue beyond the project’s duration. We warmly invite you to join this growing network. A second seminar, scheduled for September, will build on the outcomes of the June study visit to the Acheron River, sharing key insights and outlining next steps.
