We are pleased to inform you that the WAMU+NET team is in Paris this week - from June 1st to June 5th - to participate in the 27th Session of the Intergovernmental Council of UNESCO-IHP.
These are intense days of meetings and strategic discussions. We are honored to present the WAMU+NET Activity Report for 2024–2025, showcasing the global impact and achievements of our network and the dedication of all our members, also looking ahead to the future.

Our Role in the UNESCO-IHP Strategy
As you know, WAMU+NET is fully integrated into the IHP Strategic Planning framework for Phase 9 (2022–2029). Being a flagship initiative is a great responsibility, and we are already working to outline our network's contribution to the next phase - Phase 10 (2030 and beyond).
Strength in Unity
Our greatest asset has always been our ability to present ourselves as a united community.
In international settings like the IHP Council, we are not just presenting the work of the Secretariat;
we are amplifying the voices, exhibitions, and research of every single member of our network.
The stories, data, and experiences we regularly gather in our newsletters and the website (on the pages dedicated to each member) are the true evidence of the "new culture of water" we are building together.
A Call for Closer Coordination on Education
Looking ahead to the upcoming phases of our development, we must act with even greater synergy.
In particular, we aim to be more proactive in our educational activities. We invite all our members to work in closer coordination with the Secretariat to harmonize our efforts. Together, we can create more impactful, large-scale educational projects that align with the core objectives of UNESCO-IHP.
We will keep you updated on the key developments emerging from this week’s Council.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment. It is your passion that makes the Global Network of Water Museums a unique, world-leading initiative in the field of water heritage.
With gratitude and best regards,
The WAMU+NET Secretariat
